Book Authorship and Publishing

Writing a book that becomes the most powerful authority-building asset a CEO can own.

What it actually is

A traditionally published, hybrid-published, or self-published book under your name. A six- to twelve-month investment that generates speaking, press, partnerships, and pipeline for a decade.

Best for

Founders selling expertise: services, consulting, coaching, professional services, and category-creator brands.

Watch-outs

Royalties almost never pay for the time. The book is a business card and a credibility multiplier, not a revenue stream.

Real talk

A good book opens every door for the next ten years. A bad book gathers dust on your own shelf. Hire an editor whose previous work you have actually read.

For veterans

Veteran-authored books are publishable, but only if the angle is sharp and current. Generic transition memoirs do not move. Specific, hard-won lessons do.

First steps

  1. 1.Outline the one specific argument the book makes
  2. 2.Pre-test the argument as a long article or newsletter series
  3. 3.Commit to either traditional, hybrid, or self-publishing before drafting
